Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We have all the answers to help you learn more about our services and experience. Explore the engagement models we offer, along with the benefits of working with Seedium.
What does the name Seedium mean?
The core of our name is 'Seed,' which brings the idea of growth. Initially, we focused on cooperating with seed-round startups and making them successful. Currently, we work with startups at all stages and established small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), but the concept of helping businesses grow and scale remains part of our DNA.
What makes Seedium different?
Our people. We invest a lot of time and resources in hiring top professionals and great personalities, so we are really proud of our team. Last but not least, Seedium has an impressively high percentage of success among startups we have worked with, which is far higher than industry standards ;)
Why is it more profitable to hire an outsourcing team at Seedium than to hire one developer on staff?
IT outsourcing is a great solution for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and startups, especially when it comes to software development services. First of all, it increases efficiency by optimizing costs, as there is no need to set up an additional workplace. Additionally, Seedium takes responsibility for the risks and provides you with performance guarantees, allowing your team to focus on their “core competencies.” Last but not least, the rates for outsourcing are lower than hiring in-house developers in North America or Western Europe.
What type of projects do you work with?
Seedium builds web and mobile applications of any complexity. Our portfolio includes successful products for industries such as real estate, HRTech, healthcare, finance, CRMs, social networks, sports, e-commerce, and more.
What type of businesses do you work with?
With our comprehensive services and flexible collaboration models, we can handle software development tasks for startups and small and medium-sized businesses. Whether you are building a product from scratch or scaling existing software, our tech experts can meet your needs at any stage of development.
What is the basic budget requirement?
We don't have a specific minimum budget, but based on our experience, good quality web or mobile application development takes approximately 1,000 working hours with a budget starting from $25,000. The final cost depends on complexity, features, and integrations required. In most cases, we have tools and pre-built solutions to speed up development time and reduce costs for our clients.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
We work with both hourly rates and fixed-price contracts. For fixed-price contracts, we conduct the Discovery Phase, which usually takes 2-3 weeks to create a detailed project plan and ensure the project will be completed within the proper timeframe and budget. For companies looking for ongoing development and considering possible pivots, we offer hourly contracts and dedicated team options to ensure maximum value for our clients.
What is a Dedicated Team model?
The Dedicated Team is a remote professional team working on your project. In this model, the Seedium team works exclusively on a specific project full-time with direct accountability to the client. Seedium provides recruitment services, administrative support, and resources for project implementation.
What are the benefits of the Dedicated Team model?
The Dedicated Team model works like hiring in-house employees, except Seedium takes care of all the bureaucracy and administrative overhead. This way, you get experienced engineers who fully meet your requirements, with the flexibility to easily scale the team as needed.
How many developers can I hire for my project?
We are ready to assign from 1 developer to more than 10 high-skilled engineers to support your product development.
Are the Seedium team members full-time employees or contractors/freelancers?
All of the team members in our prime list are full-time Seedium employees. We notify our clients in advance if the project requires external capabilities.
What is the Discovery Phase, and why do I need it?
The Discovery Phase is an important development stage where we define requirements and analyze business goals to create a technical implementation proposal, establish a project timeline, and estimate development costs. This way, you reduce uncertainty, minimize risks, and optimize budgets for your product development.
How do you ensure security in software development?
Seedium adheres to industry best practices and our internal security policies to safeguard your product both during development and post-release. Our security measures include data encryption, secure communication protocols such as SSL, TLS, mTLS, and HTTPS, and regular security assessments to protect against DDoS attacks, bots, and other malicious threats.
What does the development process look like at Seedium?
While our development process may vary depending on your chosen engagement model, we always start with thorough research and planning to ensure we fully understand and meet your project needs. We follow Agile methodologies internally and can seamlessly adapt to your existing workflows and processes.
Can you handle ongoing maintenance?
Yes, of course, we can provide maintenance and support services for your project. Ongoing maintenance helps keep your product up to date, ensures high performance and security, and reduces the risk of downtime.
