Solo is a tax and accounting application built to comply with New Zealand regulations. It was designed to help sole traders, freelancers, and contractors easily manage their finances without involving a traditional accountant. The platform provides rich functionality, including expense/income tracking, tax return filing, and real-time tax calculations.
The story behind
Solo needed to launch new functionality quickly but lacked sufficient front-end expertise on their team. The company was looking for a seasoned engineer who could step in immediately, elevate new features to production-ready quality, and ensure a smooth rollout to end users. Seedium provided Solo with expert front-end support, helping the client accelerate development and meet tight deadlines.

Within a week, Seedium allocated an experienced senior engineer who seamlessly integrated into the client’s tech team and efficiently implemented functionality based on the design materials.
The invoicing module enables users to create, edit, and manage invoices easily. Users can customize invoices, preview them, and export them as PDFs to share with clients. The system also tracks invoice status and displays overdue amounts and totals directly on the user dashboard.
The invoicing module was integrated into the core app as a native feature. This reduces the need to switch between separate apps.
To enhance invoice generation functionality, we also developed a comprehensive client management feature. It enables users to securely store and organize client information, including contact details and billing addresses, directly within the platform. Users can easily assign this data to invoices, reducing manual data entry.
Seedium engineer worked in close collaboration with the client’s in-house back-end developers, establishing efficient communication through popular tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Trello. This coordination enabled us not only to implement requested features effectively but also to proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
As a result, new functionality was delivered within the agreed timeline and met all quality and performance requirements.
