Product overview
SigNoz is an open‑source observability platform designed as a cost‑effective alternative to proprietary monitoring tools. It allows engineers to collect, store, visualize, and correlate logs, metrics, and traces in a unified interface.
The story behind
SigNoz was founded in 2020 to fill a gap in the open‑source observability ecosystem. After raising seed funding in 2023, the team began expanding the platform’s functionality and was looking for experienced front-end engineers to accelerate the development of a new module. Seedium connected with the client through Upwork and provided specialists who met the project’s requirements.

Seedium solutions
Seedium engineers worked with the client team to build a module that helps users to explore, filter, and analyze their observability data.
The client aimed to create a visual interface that would help users quickly explore patterns in system performance and logs without writing complex queries manually. To support this goal, we helped the core team develop a comprehensive no-code querying system with capabilities such as filtering, aggregation, and grouping:
- Filtering allows to narrow results based on various attributes of logs or traces.
- Aggregation lets calculate a single value from a group of values.
- Grouping helps segment data by defined attributes.
As a result, even users without deep technical expertise can build complex queries step-by-step using dropdowns and fields.
To help users analyze complex data, the system supports running multiple queries and applying mathematical functions to the result. We introduced a query composition layer and a data transformation pipeline, using React Query to manage data fetching.
This enables operations like exclusion, arithmetic, smoothing, and time shifting, so users can easily compare and adjust data in the interface.
To implement the visualization layer, our engineers used Chart.js to render aggregated data fetched via React Query. Users can see data in bar charts, time series, pie charts, and more.
We also applied Ant Design, which provided ready-made UI components and enabled us to quickly build dashboards with a consistent and cohesive user experience.

The outcomes and recognition
The module was delivered on schedule, supporting the client’s development roadmap. According to user feedback and usage data, it helped to improve visual clarity and reduce debugging time for SigNoz users.
"Yevhen has good coding skills and follows best practices. He used to properly communicate the tasks, timeline, and blockers (if any). Overall, he was a good team player. I would definitely re-hire him when needed again."
